Steve and the team welcome you to The Crossways Inn, West Huntspill in Somerset. A family run 17th Century Coaching Inn, serving good home-cooked, fresh food with a great selection of 9 real ales, local farmhouse ciders, lagers and fine wines. We also have a 4 star adjoining Bed & Breakfast, please see below for more information.

We have a large enclosed beer garden with an outdoor play area for the children to enjoy with lots of seating for the adults, ideal for the warmer summer months. During the not so warm winter months we have 2 stunning open fire places to keep those feet and hands warm.

The Crossways Inn has claims originating back to around the 17th century. Its location would have made it a calling stage for coaches and carriages. Being adjacent to the common, it would have been part of the fairs and animal markets which occurred there until the late 19th century. There is also photographic evidence of hunts meeting here. 

Our new kitchen opening hours are Tuesday through to Saturday, lunch and dinner. This does not affect breakfast for our B&B guests.

We are open for drinks all day every day.

New accommodation of 7 double/twin en-suite rooms and 1 family en-suite room have been created at the Inn. Rooms have been furnished and fitted out to the very highest of standards including Air-conditioning and all feature Super King Size beds. We have been awarded a Silver 4 star rating by the AA.

Conditions of Booking

Check-in is between 3pm and 8pm. Rooms must be vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure unless a late check-out has been arranged in advance. 

We require you to complete a pre-authorisation on your credit/debit card at check in. All damages must be paid for. 

We cannot accept any liability for accidents that may occur to guests, or loss or damage to their personal property whilst staying at the Crossways Inn. We advise that holiday insurance should be purchased to cover each eventuality. Vehicles parked at the Crossways Inn are parked entirely at the owners risk. 

We are a no smoking accommodation.

We pride ourselves in cooking good home cooked food using locally sourced meats, fish and bread. All our dishes are prepared and freshly cooked to order.

Food service is Tuesday- Saturday, lunch and dinner. Lunch is served 12pm till 2:30pm and dinner is 6pm till 8:50pm. Please note that final orders are taken 10 minutes before end of service.

Kitchen is closed on Sunday & Mondays.

Having been around for quite sometime now we have accumulated a number of very loyal regulars whose lovely faces we love to see. A yearly membership, with a swanky card to go with, which gives you 10% off everything (not just pints) consumed by yourself! Theres a once a year payment of either £50 for an individual or £80 for a couples membership. If this is something you’re interested in then please enquire at the bar at your next visit as there is a limited number of these memberships available.

West Huntspill, on the Somerset levels lies approximately 4 miles from J22 off the M5 situated on the A38. 

Conveniently we are located approx 12 miles from the gorgeous Cheddar Gorge, approx 22 miles from the Historic city of Wells and Wookey and approx 17 miles from the wonders of Glastonbury.
